1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to CourierDepot Jamaica. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our courier and logistics services, website, and mobile application (collectively, the "Services").

By creating an account, using our Services, or accessing our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

Please read these Terms carefully before using our Services. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CourierDepot Jamaica.

2. Definitions

  • "Company," "we," "our," "us" refers to CourierDepot Jamaica
  • "Customer," "you," "your" refers to any person or entity using our Services
  • "Package" refers to any item, parcel, or shipment handled through our Services
  • "Services" refers to our courier, shipping, logistics, and related services
  • "Platform" refers to our website and mobile application
  • "Mailbox" refers to the virtual shipping address assigned to your account

3. Account Registration

3.1 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use our Services. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3.2 Account Information

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate and complete. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

3.3 Identity Verification

We may require identity verification documents (such as government-issued ID) for account verification, customs clearance, and fraud prevention purposes as required by Jamaican law.

4. Services Description

CourierDepot Jamaica provides:

  • International package forwarding services (Air and Ocean freight)
  • Virtual US shipping address (Mailbox) services
  • Package consolidation and repackaging
  • Customs clearance assistance
  • Local delivery services within Jamaica
  • Package tracking and notifications
  • Purchase assistance services

5. Shipping and Delivery

5.1 Pre-Alert Requirements

You must pre-alert all packages shipped to your Mailbox address. Pre-alerts must include accurate item descriptions, declared values, and seller information. Failure to pre-alert may result in processing delays or additional fees.

5.2 Delivery Times

Estimated delivery times are provided for reference only and are not guaranteed. Delivery times may be affected by customs clearance, weather, carrier delays, or other factors beyond our control.

5.3 Package Collection

Packages marked as "Ready for Pickup" must be collected within 14 days. Packages not collected within this period may incur storage fees. Uncollected packages after 30 days may be disposed of at our discretion.

6. Prohibited and Restricted Items

You agree not to ship the following items:

  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances
  • Weapons, firearms, or ammunition
  • Explosives or hazardous materials
  • Counterfeit or pirated goods
  • Perishable food items (unless approved)
  • Live animals or plants
  • Currency, negotiable instruments, or precious metals
  • Pornographic materials
  • Items prohibited by Jamaican or US law

Shipping prohibited items may result in account termination, forfeiture of the items, and potential legal action. You are solely responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

7. Pricing and Payment

7.1 Shipping Rates

Shipping rates are calculated based on the greater of actual weight or dimensional weight. Rates are subject to change without notice. Current rates are available on our platform.

7.2 Customs Duties and Taxes

You are responsible for all customs duties, taxes, and fees assessed by Jamaican Customs. Declared values must be accurate. We reserve the right to adjust declared values if they appear to be undervalued.

7.3 Payment Terms

All fees must be paid before package release. We accept various payment methods as displayed on our platform. Invoices are due upon receipt. Late payments may incur additional fees and may result in service suspension.

8. Liability and Insurance

8.1 Limited Liability

Our liability for lost or damaged packages is limited to the lesser of:

  • The actual value of the item
  • The declared value at the time of shipping
  • USD $100 per package (unless additional insurance is purchased)

8.2 Insurance Options

We recommend purchasing additional shipping insurance for valuable items. Insurance options and rates are available during checkout.

8.3 Claims

Claims for lost or damaged packages must be filed within 7 days of delivery (for damage) or 30 days after estimated delivery date (for loss). Claims require proof of value and supporting documentation.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on our Platform, including logos, text, graphics, and software, is the property of CourierDepot Jamaica or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

10. Privacy

Your use of our Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy , which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with the Jamaica Data Protection Act.

11. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms or any applicable laws
  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Ship prohibited items
  • Fail to pay outstanding invoices
  • Engage in fraudulent activity

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Outstanding balances must be paid before account closure.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CourierDepot Jamaica, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of our Services, violation of these Terms, or violation of any third-party rights.

13. Disclaimers

Our Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

  • The availability or reliability of our Services
  • The accuracy of delivery estimates
  • The condition of packages upon delivery
  • Third-party carriers or services

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Jamaica. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our Services shall be resolved through:

  1. Good faith negotiation between the parties
  2. Mediation, if negotiation fails
  3. The courts of Jamaica, if mediation fails

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or platform notification. Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
